jen4  Dr. Jennifer E. Obidah, Director joined the team at the Education Evaluation Centre in 2006.  Before joining the Centre, Dr. Obidah was a professor of education at the University California, Los Angeles.  She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Sociology from Hunter College, New York, a M.A. in African American Studies from YaleUniversity, and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California at Berkeley.  Dr. Obidah also has extensive experience in working with youth in the United States of America and Barbados.

Data analysis.

Specifically, she focusses on the socio-cultural contexts of (a) teacher-student interactions in schools; (b) violence in communities and schools; (c) urban school reform (d) the impact of racial and class differences between students and teachers on the teaching and learning process.  
    
 
 
BenitaDr. Benita P. Thompson , a trained teacher, holds a Ph. D in Education, a Masters in Educational Administration and a B.A. (Hons) in History and Sociology with Education from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Dr. Thompson is employed as a Research Assistant with the UWI Education Evaluation Centre.

andreaMrs. Andrea Burnett holds a B.Sc. Degree in Public Sector Management (Hons.) from the University of West Indies, an Associate’s Degree in Sociology and Law from the Barbados Community College and a Certificate in Public Relations from Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP).  She is currently employed as a Research Assistant at the University of the West Indies, Campus and is presently pursuing a Masters in Education.

Mrs. Veronica Jones holds a B.Sc. Degree in Management (Hons.) along with an Executive Diploma in Event Management from the University of West Indies.  She is the Centre's Adminsitrative Assistant.

 

SherryannMiss Sherryann Harvey is currently pursuing a BSc. in Economics and Accounting at the University of the West Indies. She is employed as a Stenographer/Clerk at the Centre.
