Based on how well you perform, you will graduate with First Class, Upper Second Class or Lower Second Class Honours or simply a Pass degree. This is a system typical of Commonwealth universities. In North American universities, the Grade Point Average (GPA) system is more common. At UWI we have married these two systems to ensure your performance is easier understood by other institutions. The GPA system allows you and your tutors to track your progress.
You must maintain a cumulative GPA of ≥ 1.0 to graduate. As a result, students attaining a Semester GPA < 1.0 in two consecutive semesters will be required to withdraw (Reg. 30b).
