Graduate Study at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus

One of the strategic aims of the University of the West Indies is to become an internationally recognized Centre for Excellence for graduate education, especially respected and sought after for (i) the delivery of first rate graduate programmes, (ii) its pre-eminence in Caribbean scholarship, and (iii) its output of higher degree graduates who are at the cutting edge of contemporary scholarship, clinical skills, professional development and expertise.

In this context, the University offers a variety of programmes that lead to Graduate Diplomas, Masters and Doctoral Degrees. These programmes are administered by the University’s School for Graduate Studies and Research (SGSR).

The Office of the School for Graduate Studies and Research at the Cave Hill Campus is currently located on the top floor of the Administration building.  The School operates an “open door” policy during the office hours: 8:30-4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The office has responsibility for the administration of all graduate programmes at the Cave Hill Campus. This includes:

  • Applications
  • Admission
  • Registration
  • Scholarships
  • Examinations (Oral, Written, Project, Research Paper and Thesis)
  • Graduation
