Caribbean at the Crossroads in the Crisis of Capitalism

For Release Upon Receipt - Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Strategies by which Barbados and other Caribbean countries might emerge from their current dire economic circumstances could be revealed when a Caribbean academic of international reknown delivers the 9th Patrick A.M. Emmanuel Memorial lecture on Thursday (November13) at the UWI Cave Hill campus. The lecture will be held in the Roy Marshall Lecture Theatre from 7:30 p.m.

 

Professor Hilbourne Watson, Professor Emeritus of International Relations, Bucknell University, United States of America will address the topic The Caribbean at the Crossroads in the Crisis of Capitalism. Professor Watson has written extensively on issues of sovereignty, capitalism and development.

        

This lecture is organized annually by the UWI Cave Hill, Department of Government, Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, to honour the memory of the late Grenadian and Caribbean scholar, Dr. Patrick Emmanuel.
