Philosophy of Language - PHIL3804 (PH38D)
Semester 2, 2005/6
Materials for the course can be found from this Schedule page. See also the tutorial discussion topics below. After our first meetings in TSR3 (which is at the end of the corridor on the right as you enter the Teaching Complex, labelled Seminar Room 3), we may decide to meet in the Conference Room upstairs in the Outreach Building, at 6-7 pm on Tuesdays and from 6-8 pm on Thursdays.
Tutorial/seminars
Most weeks we shall use a particular text as a basis for discussion. Topics are given on the same page as the lecture schedule above. They constitute a thread more closely connected with linguistics than the main lecture sequence.
Assessment for the Course
How will you be assessed? The exam will count for 60%. A revised version of your tutorial presentation will constitute the coursework, worth 40%; it will be due in by ??.
The exam for 2004 is here.
