Ivor Stevens was born in St. Kitts but he spent his formative years growing up on Nevis. He lived during a time of hatred and distrust between the two islands. Because of the situation he saw, Ivor chose to become a politician. He was confident that he could do something in that arena to bring about change between the islands. When he died in 1997, Ivor had achieved much of what he set out to accomplish.
