The paper focuses on the role of intra-Caribbean migration in shaping perceptions of national identity and weaving threads of unity across the Caribbean basin. It presents a specific case study of migration between the Dominican Republic and the Leeward Islands of St. Kitts-Nevis & Antigua. It looks in particular at the influx of Dominicanos with Leeward Islands ancestry into these states since their independence in the early 1980s and it examines the socio-cultural impact that the new minority has had on the host societies.
