The Caribbean region countries have very limited land resource. The socio-economic environment in most of these countries is characterized by high unemployment, poverty, substance abuse and crime. Youth unemployment is particularly high. The paper makes a case for rearing small livestock around the family home as a source of nutrition, youth training and employment.
