Workshop on Graduate Thesis Research: Mastering the Skills
 

The Library through its Instruction Programme partners with the School of Graduate Studies and Research to support the information research needs of graduate students.

Through a series of workshops graduate students are exposed to the skills they will need to produce quality research theses. Beyond these workshops your Faculty Liaison Librarian is available for individual and small group sessions in response to your specific needs.

The workshop is offered in the first semester of the academic year. Registration is limited to a twenty five students per workshop. Additional workshops are offered when the numbers exceed the twenty five maximum. Priority is given to M.Phil and PhD students but MA/MSc. can be admitted if space is available.

  • Session 2: Search strategies and databases
  • Session 3: Internet as a research tool
  • Session 4: Managing your references

Thesis Preparation

All graduate theses must follow the guidelines set out in the university’s thesis guide. The library has responsibility for ensuring that students have complied with the guidelines set out in the guide and we urge you to consult with your Faculty Liaison Librarian as you write in order to make your thesis writing a painless exercise.
