Orientation Ceremony: Undergraduate Students
Orientation Date: Friday, August 26th 2011
Time: 9:00am Students are asked to be seated by 8:45am
Venue: Roy Marshall Teaching Complex
Details: A special orientation programme for both local and overseas undergraduate students new to the Campus. Orientation sessions focus on helping new students adjust to life at Cave Hill Campus. Students get information on where to go for assistance, safety and security issues, and tips on how to succeed with their studies and maximise the benefits of their undergraduate education. Overseas students will learn about Barbados.

Details: After the Orientation is the Orientation Fair on the Student Activities Lawn.
Orientation Fair showcases several university services and student resources.
Booths will also be set up by several businesses that offer services to students.

Parents and Partners Orientation
Date: Saturday, August 27th 2011
Time: 5:00pm
Venue: Roy Marshall Teaching Complex
Details:This gives parents and partners of new students the opportunity to interact with staff and faculty. Additionally, it gives staff the opportunity to answer your questions about the structure and dynamics of university life and ways in which you can be supportive to your loved ones.

Orientation: International Students
Students who are part of the Student Exchange Programme are required to meet with Mrs. Paula Jarvis, Administrative Assistant, Education Abroad Programmes, upon arrival at the campus. Students will be required to attend an orientation and will be briefed on campus life. International students will also be involved in other orientation activities organised by the University for the benefit of all incoming undergraduates at the campus as well as activities organised by the Students Guild.

Orientation: Graduate Students
Orientation for graduate students will be on Tuesday, August 30st, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Roy Marshall Teaching Complex, LT1. For more details visit the website of the School for Graduate Studies and Research at www.cavehill.uwi.edu/gradstudies. Your faculty/department may also arrange other orientation events.
FYE: First Year Experience
Strictly Firsts Years is a preparatory course intended to empower students to understand the goals of higher education, take personal responsibility for their own success, become effective students and develop social, personal and interpersonal skills.
Dates: August 8 - 12, 2011.
