A Healthy Body Equals A Healthy Mind
 
The gym is located in the basement of the UWI Cafeteria, with access through the UWI Student’s Guild. At maximum capacity, the gym can accommodate twenty-five (25) persons and is well supervised with qualified student assistants and professional instructors. The gym continues to be upgraded so as to meet the basic needs of the average fitness seeker and competitive athlete.

Students also train under the watchful eye of chief instructor Maureen Howard, who received personal trainer certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
 
Code of Conduct

1.

Users must present their student ID upon entering the student gym.
2. Absolutely no slippers, hard shoes, jeans or jewellery are to be worn into the gym.
3.  All soft shoes worn into the gym must be free of mud.
4. Users must bring with them a towel. No towel, no training!
5. Users are asked to spend no more than ten (10) minutes on the cardio machines, especially during peak times.
6.
 
The spray and towel provided are to be used when users are finished with a machine, bench or any other apparatus on which perspiration maybe left.
7.  No foul language, loitering, excessive noise or playing will be permitted in the gym.
8.  Absolutely no food is allowed in the gym.
9. Users walking with their own liquid are advised that no glass bottles are allowed in the gym. Plastic only!
10.  All weights and apparatus are to be replaced on racks after use, ALL!

Failure to comply with reasonable instructions from a supervisor can and will result in expulsion from the gym!
