SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER IN ANATOMY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Anatomy in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados.
The successful applicant should be an experienced anatomist, a graduate from a recognized and accredited University, with a postgraduate qualification in Anatomy, e.g. a Master's or PhD, and significant teaching experience in the specialty. A medical qualification would be an advantage, but may not be essential, in the presence of appropriate anatomy training and teaching experience. He/she must be a good team player with excellent professional and interpersonal skills.
The former School of Clinical Medicine and Research is in the process of upgrading to a full Faculty of Medical Sciences, offering a full five year MBBS programme. An additional anatomist is being sought. This offers an exciting opportunity for participation in new developments with an integrated curriculum, and multi-modal anatomy teaching.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Coordinate the teaching (and assessment) of anatomy to undergraduates and to postgraduates in surgery.
- Supervise the teaching of junior part time staff, e.g. surgical residents

Carry out a research programme in anatomy / basic science or teaching methods
The successful applicant will be expected to assume duties by January 1, 2009, or as soon as possible thereafter.
