2019 Theme -  Public Debt Restructuring and its Impact on the Caribbean

Melia Cohiba, Cuba

The theme of this year’s workshop focuses on the impact of public debt restructuring on the economies of Caribbean nation states. Persons are invited to submit proposals for papers that discuss, explore and reflect on the socio-legal and economic impact of sovereign debt restructuring in the Caribbean. This year’s workshop, therefore contemplates and welcomes papers that may take a multi-disciplinary approach to the theme. They may include papers that address investment treaty arbitration, investor confidence and debt-rescheduling, reputational and credit risks, the role of  multi-lateral lending agencies, public sector reform, the impact on public-private partnerships, managing litigation exposure from restructuring and dispute settlement.

The workshop will feature the popular and dynamic roundtable sessions, including  both corporate counsel and commercial law practice roundtables.  We look forward to addressing these and other exciting topics in Cuba!
