As part of its mandate for continuing legal education and continuing professional development, the Faculty of Law hosts a variety of courses, conferences, workshops and colloquia.
Our annual conference is the Caribbean Commercial Law Workshop. Initiated in 1999, the Caribbean Commercial Law Workshop is the region’s premium corporate and commercial gathering. Each year the Workshop is organised around a particular legal theme or topic and brings together a wide range of legal academics, legal practitioners, and business leaders from across the Caribbean. The workshop takes place over a period of three days, usually in July or August, commencing with an evening reception and following with two full days of panels. The location of the Workshop changes every year and is selected in consultation with Workshop delegates and the CCLW Steering Committee from venues across the Caribbean and in Miami. In 2019 the Workshop was held in Havana, Cuba.
Please look out for our Call for Papers, which details the Workshop theme, location and dates, and extends an invitation to speakers to submit paper proposals.
