Welcome to the 2019 Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition

The Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados (UWI Cave Hill), and the China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing, China (CUPL) are delighted to announce the opening of the 2019 Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition.
This competition was jointly founded by UWI Cave Hill and CUPL in 2017.  Oral rounds are hosted by each institution in alternate years.  The first competition took place in May 2017 and was hosted by UWI Cave Hill, in Barbados; the second took place in June 2018 and was hosted by CUPL, in Beijing, China.  This year the competition returns to the UWI Cave Hill Campus, in Barbados, with oral rounds scheduled from June 10-15, 2019.
The competition Compromis raises contemporary international legal issues in a range of fields and we hope will prove both exciting and challenging to competitors.  Registration opens for teams on January 17, 2019. The registration fee assists us with the cost of food and refreshments for competitors during the course of the competition, as well as the arrangements for the competition dinner and awards ceremony, which will be held on June 14, 2019.
Please click on the links below for the competition timetable, the competition rules, the compromis, and for further information on accommodation and Barbados more generally.  We welcome teams from across the Caribbean, China, and around the globe.  We look forward to seeing you in Barbados in June 2019!
