Campus to Engage Local and Regional Guidance Counsellors

Event Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2020

The Student Enrolment and Retention Unit (SERU) will host the annual forum for Guidance Counsellors of local secondary schools and tertiary institutions on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. For the past two years this event has taken the form of a breakfast engagement but this year it will be held virtually via Zoom. A similar forum for counsellors in regional institutions is planned for November 18, 2020.


Topics to be presented and discussed at the local forum include:

  • The new Faculty of Culture, Creative and Performing Arts - Programmes, Directions and Partnerships
  • Preparing Students for Success at University
  • Study Abroad Opportunities and Benefits, including student testimonials
  • The Undergraduate Admissions Process
  • Postgraduate Programmes for Educators
  • Opportunities for Continuous Engagement and Partnership

The Guidance Counsellors Forum will kick-off a month of virtual outreach events being organized by the SERU as the Campus moves into the 2021/22 New Admissions cycle beginning November 1, 2020. Other events planned for the month of November include:

  • Cave Hill Virtual Open Week, November 9-13, 2020 which will feature a joint kick-off session followed by a series of Faculty-led events
  • Participation in the Dutch Caribbean Virtual Fair on November 10, 2020 - St. Maarten, Bonaire and Curaçao
  • Participation in the virtual Aruba College Fair, November 13 and 14
