The Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the UNCITRAL Secretariat and the Caribbean Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), will host on 26 November 2021 at 2:00pm - 4:00pm (Eastern Caribbean Time), an UNCITRAL Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Day seminar

This virtual UNCITRAL LAC DAY event, which is the first event of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean, aims to address key developments in the field of arbitration and mediation, in the context of UNCITRAL's main instruments, from the perspective of leading practitioners from The Bahamas, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.  

Presentations will be made by:

  • H.H. Justice Rubie Nottage (retired), Prof. of Law, Department of Laws, Social Science, University of the Bahamas
  • Dr. Christopher Malcolm, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus & Consultant Senior, Legal Advisor, Minister of Justice, Jamaica
  • Ms. Salma Rahaman, Attorney at Law, ADR Practitioner, Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce

The session will be moderated by Justice Anthony Gafoor.
