Documents Required

Applicants are required to submit the following supporting documents (as applicable). 

Required Documents

  1. National ID card (Barbadian applicants only)
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Certificate of Citizenship (Certificate of Registration; Certificate of Citizenship by Descent) NOTE: Applicants who hold dual citizenship are asked to clearly indicate which nationality they wish to be considered.
  4. Marriage Certificate (where your name has been changed through marriage)
  5. Legal Affidavit or Deed Poll (if your name is different from that on the Birth Certificate)
  6. Academic certificates (GCE, CXC, CAPE, CSEC, BGSCE, WASSCE, SSSCE,). Grade slips are only accepted in a case where the certificate is not yet available. 
  7. SAT scores accompanied with your High School Transcript
  8. Professional Certificates/Diplomas
  9. Official Transcripts from International High Schools, Colleges and Universities - These must be sent directly from the granting institution or forwarded from World Education Services (WES). (NOT APPLICABLE to those qualifying with Caribbean Examination Council (CSEC/CAPE) certification). 
  10. Receipt or bank draft for application fees
 

Faculty Specific Required Documents

 
  • Curriculum Vitae (ALL Diploma in Education (Primary) and Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business applicants)
  • Submission of creative work (Culture, Creative and Performing Arts applicants only, please click here for more information)
  • Submission of a 250 - 300 word essay entitled "Why I wish to study Social Work" or "Why do I want to be a Social Worker" and two written references (Social Work applicants only)
  • Submission of a 250 - 300 word autobiographical sketch indicating why you choose this field of study and co-curricular form (MBBS applicants and Human Nutrition and Dietetics applicants, please click here for co-curricular form). Students applying for the MBBS programme must also meet the technical standards that are deemed essential for training and practice in the profession. Submission of Documents

After submitting your application, you will receive an email containing a unique document upload link within 5-7 business days. 
 
  1. Keep this link safe as it is your gateway to tracking your application. This link provides access to the document upload portal and application status updates.
  2. All documents must be certified/notarized by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or School Principal/Deputy Principal.
  3. We accept only .pdf, .jpg, or .jpeg files. No MS Word files will be accepted.
  4. Processing begins only after all supporting documents are uploaded.
  5. Kindly note therefore that a valid email address is required to complete the application process.
  6. Important Note on Document Upload Fields:
    • Only upload documents that are relevant to your application.
    • DISREGARD any fields that do not apply to you (e.g., deed poll or marriage certificate if these are not applicable).
    • Do not upload blank pages for fields that are not applicable to you.
    • If a document type is not applicable to you, leave that field empty.
  7. Application Status & Documents:
    • "Unprocessed" and "Items Outstanding" status means your application is awaiting processing.
    • When transcripts are received from institutions, your record and the transcript field in CHAD will be updated accordingly.
    • When referee reports are received, your record and the referee report field(s) in CHAD will be updated accordingly.
    • Check your application progress through the CHAD portal.

What is a certified/notarized document?
This is a true copy of an original document which is signed and stamped indicating that the original was seen and dated by a professional person. This person should not be related to you.

The UWI reserves the right to rescind offers if submitted documents are found to be fraudulent or misrepresented.
 

Changes to your Application

After submitting the application, you will not be able to make any changes to the information online. DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER APPLICATION. If there is a need to make a change to your application already submitted, please write to The Assistant Registrar - Student Affairs Admissions at admissions@cavehill.uwi.edu with details of the changes to be made. You may also direct any queries via this email address.
