The UN COP26 summit on Climate Change comes to a close and The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has been centre among many of the major conversations given its distinctive strategic role in providing the technical expertise and climate action advocacy for the Caribbean region.

The administration of The UWI Cave Hill campus has been made aware of a petition that is currently in circulation, where students are protesting using a “lockdown browser” for some courses in the Department of Management Studies. This software program is aimed at ensuring the utmost integrity of our examinations process.

The Centre for Biosecurity Studies (CBS) at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus has entered an arrangement to provide specialized training to 500 staff at the Barbados Water Authority (BWA). The initiative will be led by Director of CBS, Dr. Kirk Douglas.

The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Open Campus recently launched Phase One of its partnership with UNESCO’s Transcultura Programme for persons from Spanish-speaking Caribbean countries.
